Car Crashes Under Big Rig Truck at Perris Intersection
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (Jan 4, 2021) — Chrystal Romero, 26, of Riverside, died in a Perris truck accident on Dec. 30th at Harvill Avenue and Cajalco Expressway.
The 7:31 a.m. traffic collision took place on Dec. 30th to the California Highway Patrol. The young woman was identified by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The CHP report stated a driver in a black Chevrolet 200 sedan crashed underneath the truck. The semi-tractor trailer truck was turning at the intersection when the car crashed underneath the truck’s trailer. The vehicles were blocking the southbound lanes of the roadway.
The Riverside County Sheriff Coroner responded to the scene of the fatal Perris truck accident. The report did not state how many people were in the car at the time of the collision.
Meanwhile, authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and liability. They will seek to find out which driver had the right of way prior to the collision. Witnesses should contact Riverside police as they piece together evidence and statements from those at the scene. The CHP report does not state whether or not any traffic violations were involved.
Finally, police will check to see if there is any video surveillance camera footage available at nearby businesses.
