Mother and 2 Children Involved in Chula Vista Crash Thursday
CHULA VISTA (May 31, 2018) – A traffic collision occurred in the area of East Palomar Street and Santa Rita on Thursday morning, according to On Scene TV.
The accident was reported at 10:53 a.m. in the intersection.
As per the article, Chula Vista police said a woman was driving an SUV with two children as her passengers when she tried to make a left-hand turn from eastbound Palomar Street onto northbound Santa Rita.
At the same time, a dark colored sedan driven by a male high school student was headed west on Palomar. The young motorist allegedly ran a red light and then struck the SUV.

The SUV flipped onto its side as a result of the crash. Good Samaritans reportedly rescued the mother and the juveniles, ages 4 and 2, out of the overturned vehicle. The children were in their safety seats at the time of the wreck.
Paramedics were requested to the scene to attend to the three victims who might have sustained injuries upon impact. Their condition at this time remained unknown.
Meanwhile, the report did not include whether the student who caused the incident stopped or was hurt. The investigation is ongoing.
