4 Injured in Chula Vista Crash at Otay Lakes Road and Hunte Parkway
CHULA VISTA, CA (October 23, 2022) – Several were hospitalized after a car crash at Otay Lakes Road and Hunte Parkway in Chula Vista.
According to a report published by the On Scene TV, the accident took place late Saturday night. Police responded to the wreck on October 22 at 10:16 p.m.
The incident happened when a white sedan was going west on Otay Lakes Road, approaching Hunte Parkway, in Chula Vista. At the same time, a black pickup truck was traveling west.
For an unknown reason, the male driver of the pickup ran a red light at the intersection. In the process, he slammed into the sedan which made a left-hand turn onto southbound Hunte.
Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Another Car
Firefighters arrived and then freed one trapped person from the wreckage. Two male occupants in the sedan sustained major injuries while another male victim survived with minor injuries.
The female passenger of the truck ended up with moderate injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics rushed all four patients to hospitals for treatment.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. The cause of the Chula Vista crash is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, police forced the eastbound lanes of Otay Lakes to shut down near Hunte following the wreck.
