2-Vehicle Car Accident at L Street On Ramp to I-5 Freeway

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (April 8, 2024) — A two-vehicle crash at the entrance to the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway happened Monday morning on the L Street and Bay Boulevard on ramp in Chula Vista.

The collision happened at around 10 a.m. on April 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The drivers of a gray Chevrolet Suburban and a brown Ford SUV were involved in the crash. A witness speaking to 911 dispatchers said one of the vehicles hit the other one very hard.

The vehicles collided in the middle lanes of the freeway’s on ramp due to unknown circumstances.

Paramedics responded to help at least one person who was injured, but it’s unknown if they were hospialized.

The cause of the Chula Vista crash on the 5 Freeway as well as liability remain undetermined.
