1 Killed, 1 Injured in Chula Vista Crash on Interstate 805 at Telegraph Canyon
CHULA VISTA, CA (May 27, 2023) – A crash killed one person and injured another on the Interstate 805 and Telegraph Canyon Road in Chula Vista.
According to an article published by the San Diego Union Tribune, the tragic accident took place late Saturday night. Officers reported the wreck on May 27 at about 10:20 p.m.
The incident happened when two cars collided for an unknown reason in Chula Vista. The vehicles crashed on the southbound Interstate 805 at Telegraph Canyon Road.
2 Cars Collide
The California Highway Patrol said both cars rolled over and went up embankments due to the impact of the collision. One of the vehicles slammed into a light pole in the area.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced one occupant, a woman, dead at the scene. Another individual ended up hurt as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of the Interstate 805 to shut down at Telegraph Canyon for several hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Chula Vista crash is still under investigation.
