Deadly Crash on I-5 Freeway in Chula Vista
CHULA VISTA, Calif. (March 25, 2024) — A fatal Chula Vista rollover crash happened on the Interstate 5 Freeway Sunday afternoon near Palomar Street.
The collision occurred just after 5 p.m. on March 24th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the vehicles collided in the middle and slow lanes of the freeway due to unknown circumstances and one vehicle overturned and caught on fire.
Paramedics responded and confirmed the death of at least one person, but there are no further details at this time.
Traffic resumed after investigators wrapped up their work just after 7:20 p.m.
