Pedestrian Killed in Chula Vista Hit-and-Run Crash on Naples Street
CHULA VISTA, CA (June 12, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian on Naples Street in Chula Vista.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5 News, the tragic accident took place late Saturday night. Officers reported the collision at around 11:22 p.m.
The incident happened on June 11 when a vehicle struck a female pedestrian for an unknown reason in Chula Vista. Police said the driver hit her on Naples Street, between Broadway and Fifth Avenue.
Driver Hits Woman, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the woman left lying on the ground. She soon died at the scene.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area.
Officers forced a stretch of Naples Street to shut down for a time following the hit-and-run incident. The cause of the fatal Chula Vista crash is still under investigation.
