Man Killed in Chula Vista Hit-and-Run on Third Avenue Near L Street
CHULA VISTA, CA (June 1, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Third Avenue in Chula Vista.
The ABC 10 News and NBC San Diego wrote that the tragic accident occurred early Tuesday. Officers reported the collision shortly before 12:30 a.m.
Chula Vista police said the incident began when a male pedestrian was walking in the 900 block of Third Avenue near L Street. For an unknown reason, a vehicle struck him.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the crash site, east of the Interstate 5. They found the man, in his 40s or 50s, left lying on the ground.
He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid to the man and then fled the area. Authorities are still searching for the motorist.
Officers forced a portion of Third Avenue to shut down following the hit-and-run collision. The fatal Chula Vista accident is still under investigation.
