Injury Car Accident on San Diego (5) Freeway Friday
Chula Vista, CA (October 24, 2021) – A suspected hit-and-run car crash occurred on Interstate 5, also known as San Diego Freeway, on October 22.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a traffic collision took place in the northbound side of the freeway near J Street. Officials said the accident caused one vehicle to slam into the center divider of I-5 in Chula Vista.
Earlier reports indicated the disabled car in the center divider of the freeway was possible a Lexus or Honda sedan.
The California Highway Patrol group logged the incident at about 9:10 p.m.
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they immediately rendered aid to people complaining of pain. Authorities later confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. Additional details on the victim have not been discussed thus far.

Our sources mentioned one motorist fled the scene before police arrived. At this time, detectives continue to work to determine the identity and location of the hit-and-run suspect.
