Chula Vista Pedestrian Accident Third Avenue, Palomar Street (June 1) Driver in SUV Hits Man Pushing Shopping Cart on Third Avenue

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (June 1, 2022)  — A Chula Vista pedestrian accident happened Wednesday morning on Third Avenue.

A driver in an SUV reportedly struck a man pushing a shopping cart loaded with wood pallets on Third Avenue in Chula Vista.

Also, the collision occurred about 8:35 a.m. on June 1st near Palomar Street, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.

The driver of the SUV stopped after the collision and cooperated with police, said police Lt. Gino Grippo. The man, who is believed to be homeless, suffered internal injuries that are not life threatening.

Paramedics responded and rushed the injured man to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition, police said.

Meanwhile, the driver involved stopped following the crash. The vehicle suffered a cracked windshield and had damage to the hood.

Finally, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the crash.
