The incident was triggered after a home burglary which took place in Hacienda Heights committed by Anthony Quisenberry, Michael Smyer, and Charles Allen.
Police officials were notified of the robbery and located the suspects vehicle before they drove into oncoming traffic eventually hitting a utility truck driven by Rogelio Gonzalez at the intersection of Gale Avenue and Johnson Drive, per KTLA 5 News.
Gonzalez sadly did not survive the impact of the crash and was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene.
Each of the three suspects immediately fled on foot but were eventually detained. Their bails have been set at $1 million each.
