Man Hit and Killed by Vehicle Near Dolivar Drive Thursday
Clairemont, CA (January 20, 2022) – A 54-year-old man died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard Thursday, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Earlier reports indicated a vehicle struck a male party near an Interstate 805 overpass in Clairemont. Officials described the car involved in the collision as a 2017 Nissan Sentra.
Preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian apparently ran in front of the car from the center island of the roadway. The driver was unable to avoid and hit the man.
Pedestrian Dies at Hospital After Accident on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard
Shortly after 7:10 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found the pedestrian with serious injuries. Paramedics rushed the patient to the hospital where he later sadly died. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Investigators continue to work to determine liability in the deadly accident on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.
