1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Clairemont Crash at Balboa and Mount Everest
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 17, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and seriously injured another at Balboa Avenue and Mount Everest Boulevard in Clairemont.
The incident happened when a 2016 Toyota Camry was going east on Balboa Avenue in Clairemont. At the same time, a 2018 Honda Accord was traveling north on Mount Everest Boulevard.
Police for an unknown reason, the Toyota broadsided the Honda. The two cars crashed at the intersection of Balboa and Mount Everest.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and then extricated both motorists from the wreckage. The driver of the Accord, a man in his 20s, died at the scene.
The operator of the Camry, a 29-year-old woman, sustained multiple life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed her to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officials forced the intersection of Balboa and Mount Everest to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Clairemont crash is still under investigation.
