CLAREMONT, Calif. (May 29, 2018) — A woman died early Tuesday morning when she reportedly fell out of the backseat of a vehicle driving on the Interstate 10 Freeway, just west of Monte Vista Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place about 6:06 a.m. this morning. The woman believed to be about 30 to 35 years old was found in the No. 1 lane of the freeway.
The driver of the older-model white Nissan Sentra exited the freeway and parked at a Costco store where she called 911 and told authorities she wanted to make sure her friend was not injured. She told police her friend unlocked the door and jumped out of the vehicle. There were two females in the front of the vehicle at the time of the incident and the victim was in the back seat.
Police closed down the HOV and Nos. 1 and 2 lanes to investigate the collision.
