Clifton Vial, 62; and Vanessa Aguilar. 28, Badly Injured in Lancaster Fatal Crash
LANCASTER, CA (May 4, 2022) – A fatal car crash left Clifton Vial and Vanessa Aguilar badly injured on Sierra Highway in Lancaster.
The California Highway Patrol identified the two Rosamond residents as victims of the wreck which took place on Tuesday night.
The incident happened when Clifton Vial was driving a 2001 Toyota 4-Runner south on Sierra Highway in Lancaster while Vanessa Aguilar was going north in a 2008 Honda Pilot.
A 2017 Nissan Sentra headed north then unsafely entered the southbound lane to overtake the Honda. In the process, the Nissan slammed head-on into the Toyota.
Man, 29, Killed in Wreck
CHP said the Sentra spun out of control and rolled over on the east road edge right shoulder, south of Avenue B. The Pilot hit the 4-Runner which overturned after the initial impact.
Clifton Vial, 62; Vanessa Aguilar, 28, and her passenger, a 39-year-old Rosamond woman, sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash.
Paramedics soon rushed them to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the Nissan, a 29-year-old Inglewood man, died following the accident.
The Antelope Valley Times wrote that the wreck occurred on May 3 at around 8:03 p.m. The cause of the Lancaster crash is still under investigation.
