Man, 44, Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run at Cloverdale and Healdsburg
CLOVERDALE, CA (March 4, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash critically injured a man at Cloverdale Boulevard and Healdsburg Avenue in Cloverdale.
According to an article published by The Press Democrat, the accident took place on Friday morning. Officers reported the collision at around 5:50 a.m.
The hit-and-run incident began when a male pedestrian was crossing the intersection of South Cloverdale Boulevard and Healdsburg Avenue.
At the same time, a vehicle was going north on Cloverdale. Police said for an unknown reason the driver hit the 44-year-old Windsor man in the crosswalk.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and soon found the victim left lying on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a trauma center and listed him in critical condition. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the man and fled northbound. They described the car as a gray sedan, possibly a 4-door.
The suspect pulled into the Cloverdale Wine Country Inn and Suites and exited the parking lot onto eastbound Citrus Fair Drive. The car continued north on River Road.
Officers forced the area of Cloverdale and Healdsburg to shut down following the hit-and-run crash. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
