Rider Critical After Collision at Highway 168 and North Academy Avenue
Clovis, CA (September 25, 2022) – A 61-year-old man suffered serious injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Highway 168 and North Academy Avenue.
The Fresno Bee News reported the 61-year-old man was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle driving behind a 2015 Scion. As the motorists approached the intersection, the woman driving the Scion slowed to make a left turn.
Major Motorcycle Accident in Clovis
According to the article published online, the rider failed to slow down as the Scion made the turn. The motorbike crashed into the left rear-end of the car. Due to the force from the impact, the motorcyclist ended up ejected from his Harley Davidson. Preliminary investigation revealed the skull cap of the rider became detached, causing the head of the rider to hit the ground.
Emergency crews arrived at the site shortly after 5:26 p.m. First responders immediately attended to the injured motorcyclist. An ambulance rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the woman driving the Scion.
Investigators continue to work to determine the precise cause of the collision that happened at Highway 168 and North Academy Avenue in Clovis.
