Cyclist Killed in DUI Collision Near Locan Avenu
Clovis, CA (May 31, 2023) – One person died following a traffic crash that occurred on Herndon Avenue Wednesday evening, May 31.
According to FOX26 News, a collision involving a person riding a bike took place near Locan Avenue in Clovis around 7 p.m. Earlier reports indicated the cyclist was gown west down Herndon Avenue when a man driving a white Dodge pickup hit them.

The force from the impact ejected the person riding the bicycle. When rescue teams arrived, they found the victim lying on the ground. Responding paramedics performed life-saving efforts to the cyclist but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and passed away at the scene. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Investigators later determined the driver that hit the bicyclist was intoxicated. For this reason, police arrested the suspect and booked them into the Fresno County Jail for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges.
