Pedestrian Injured in Clovis Hit-and-Run Near Shaw Avenue and Peach Avenue
CLOVIS, CA (June 10, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash near Shaw Avenue and Peach Avenue in Clovis.
According to the Kern Golden Empire and ABC 30 News, the accident took place on Thursday night. Officers reported the incident shortly after 10 p.m.
Clovis police said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver involved hit the person near the intersection of Shaw Avenue and Peach Avenue.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the victim left wounded and down in the roadway as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon took the victim to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Officers forced the westbound lanes of Shaw Avenue to close from Peach to Helm for several hours following the crash.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect. The Clovis hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
