Pedestrian Critically Injured in Clovis Parking Lot Crash on Shaw Avenue
CLOVIS, CA (October 22, 2022) – A crash in the parking lot of a Clovis shopping center on Shaw Avenue left a pedestrian critically injured.
According to an article published by Your Central Valley, the accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the collision at around 11 a.m.
Clovis police said the incident happened when a vehicle struck a female pedestrian who was walking in the Sonic Drive-In parking lot at the time.
For an unknown reason, the driver hit her at the Sunflower Marketplace shopping center along Shaw Avenue. She ended up pinned underneath the car as a result of the collision.
Woman Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Villa Avenue and rescued the woman. She sustained life-threatening injuries following the accident.
Medical personnel rushed the victim to a hospital and listed her in critical condition. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded patient.
Meanwhile, police added that the motorist failed to see the woman walking in the area and then hit her. Officers forced the parking lot on Shaw to close after the pedestrian accident.
The cause of the Clovis crash is still under investigation.
