COACHELLA, California (May 7, 2015) —At least one person was hurt Tuesday morning in a collision between a big rig truck and a pickup truck on Avenue 50 at the Highway 86 Expressway, according to a press release by the CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department.

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to help one person who was trapped in the wreckage and free them. It was unclear if anyone was injured in the crash based on the preliminary report. The big rig truck had a fuel leak of roughly 50 gallons that required Hazmat units to respond.

“Hopefully those hurt in this crash soon recover from their injuries,” said Attorney James Johnson. “Many times people don’t realize how badly they are hurt until the following day when the pain sets in. It’s important to seek medical help when this happens and call a personal injury attorney.”

Police are heading up an investigation into liability for this crash.
