2 Injured in Coachella DUI Hit-and-Run Crash Near Van Buren and Avenue 48
COACHELLA, CA (November 18, 2021) – Two were hospitalized after a DUI hit-and-run crash near Van Buren Street and Avenue 48 in Coachella.
According to an article published by the KESQ News, the accident took place on Sunday evening. Officers reported the wreck at around 6:49 p.m.
The incident happened on November 14 when an SUV and another vehicle collided in Coachella. The two crashed near the intersection of Van Buren Street and Avenue 48.
Deputies said the SUV rolled over due to the impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the scene in front of the Rancho Las Flores Park.
DUI Driver Hits Another Car, Flees Scene
They rescued the adult and juvenile passengers from the overturned car. Medical personnel took them to a hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded victims and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the 32-year-old man driving the other vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled.
Officers located him and determined that he was under the influence when he hit the other car. They soon arrested the driver for hit-and-run and DUI.
Officials forced the area of Van Buren Street and Avenue 48 to shut down following the wreck. The Coachella DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
