1 Killed, 1 Injured in Coachella Crash at Grapefruit Boulevard and Avenue 52
COACHELLA, CA (September 23, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and injured another at Grapefruit Boulevard and Avenue 52 in Coachella.
According to the KESQ News and My News LA, the tragic accident occurred on Thursday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 8 a.m.
The Riverside County Fire Department said two vehicles collided head-on for an unknown reason in Coachella. They crashed at the intersection of Grapefruit Boulevard and Avenue 52.
2 Vehicles Collide Head-On
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then pronounced one victim dead at the scene. Another individual sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, Cal Fire forced the Grapefruit Boulevard between Avenue 52 and 53 to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Coachella crash is still under investigation.
