COACHELLA, California (March 22, 2016) – According to the Riverside County Coroner, a 61-year-old Thermal man identified as Steven Schlie was killed in a collision on Highway 86 and Avenue 52 on Tuesday afternoon.
As per the article, the motorcycle was struck from behind by a car about 2 p.m.
Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said the motorcyclist was seriously injured following the crash. The patient was immediately transported to the Desert Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment, but he died at the hospital.
KESQ added that alcohol or drugs did not appear to have played a role in the incident.
