BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Oct. 10, 2023) — Cody Kail Ferguson, 33, of Fontana, died in a motorcycle accident on the Interstate 5 Freeway at Fort Tejon Road in Kern County.
The deadly crash occurred at around 11:09 a.m. on Oct. 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
There was a stopped pickup truck blocking the number two southbound lane on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
The CHP was already sending deputies to the scene when two motorcyclists traveling southbound on the freeway crashed into the back of the pickup truck, police said.
Both riders were ejected upon impact into the truck.
Unfortunately, Cody Ferguson sustained major injuries and died at the scene.
The second rider, a 25-year-old Santa Ana man, was transported to a hospital.
