Colby Shraver, 18, Kills 2 Pedestrians in Knightsen DUI Crash on Byron Highway
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (September 6, 2021) – Authorities detained Colby Shraver after fatal DUI crash on Byron Highway in Knightsen.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 18-year-old Knightsen man was under the influence of alcohol when he hit and killed two people.
The incident on Saturday began when Colby Shraver was driving a 2002 Subaru Impreza on Byron Highway in Knightsen. At the same time, two pedestrians were walking on the narrow shoulder of the road.
Kassandra Sepulveda and Teen Boy ID’d as Victims
CHP said he then struck 18-year-old Pittsburg resident Kassandra Sepulveda and a 16-year-old Oakley boy. Both victims died as a result of the collision.
KTVU News and CBS San Francisco wrote that the accident took place on September 4 at about 11:14 p.m. Meanwhile, CHP soon arrested Colby Shraver on suspicion of felony DUI.
They also charged him with gross vehicular manslaughter and booked him into the Martinez detention facility. The Knightsen DUI crash is still under investigation.
