2 Drivers Seriously Injured in Colfax Car Accident on Highway 174
COLFAX (December 21, 2018) – Two motorists were seriously injured after a traffic collision along Highway 174 on Thursday afternoon, according to CBS Sacramento.
The accident involving two vehicles took place on December 20 just before 4 p.m.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said for an unknown reason a silver SUV and a white Honda SUV collided head-on on Highway 174 near Rollins Lake Road.
One of the cars involved reportedly rolled off the embankment as a result of the crash.
Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated one person who was initially trapped in the wreckage.

The drivers of both vehicles were transported by ground ambulance to area hospitals for treatment.
CHP affirmed that the 23-year-old man driving the silver SUV suffered injuries to his torso, neck, and head the 19-year-old man operating the Honda sustained injuries to his knee, neck, head, and a broken arm.
Their names and condition at this time were not immediately available. Meanwhile, the highway was forced to shut down in both directions following the wreck.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
