Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle on Pepper Avenue, Injured

COLTON (July 16, 2017) – A male bicyclist was found injured on North Pepper Avenue following a traffic collision Saturday evening, as per report by OnScene.tv.

The victim was reportedly riding his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle of unknown make and model at approximately 9:20 p.m.

Paramedics responded to the 1100 block of North Pepper Avenue, and immediately attended to the injured man who was seen lying unconscious a few feet away from his bike on the ground. The victim was placed on a stretcher, and taken via land ambulance to a local hospital in unknown condition.

No immediate information was provided on the other motorist involved.

Per article, Colton Police Department is handling the ongoing investigation. Officials have not released any updates on the accident.

Based on this news report, it is still unclear if the driver will be held liable for hitting the bicyclist. Information necessary to understand what precisely took place in this accident remain unanswered—was the driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the accident? Did excessive speed or distracted driving play a role? Did the driver run a stop sign or a red light? Was the cyclist in the bicycle lane at the time of the collision? We trust Colton Police Department are looking into these and several other factors in order to determine who is at fault in this injury accident.
