COLTON, California (January 12, 2017) — A crane being towed by a flatbed truck struck an overpass Thursday morning on the eastbound 10 Freeway at Pepper Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two vehicles struck the crane after it possibly fell off the truck about 8:14 a.m. today.
The crash with the two vehicles and the crane took place in the middle lanes. The Nos. 2, 3 and 4 lanes were blocked by vehicles and debris from the bridge. Paramedics responded to the scene to help those who were injured in the crash.
Police issued a SigAlert due to the collision as only the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes remained open to traffic. The cleanup was expected to take roughly five hours.
