1 Killed, 4 Injured in Williams Crash Near Highway 20 and Highway 16
COLUSA COUNTY, CA (July 12, 2021) – A crash killed one person and injured several others on Highway 20 and Highway 16 near Williams.
According to The Sacramento Bee and FOX 40 News, the tragic accident occurred on Sunday evening. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 7 p.m.
The incident happened on July 11 when a vehicle was going west on Highway 20 near Williams in Colusa County. For an unknown reason, its driver crossed over the yellow lines into the eastbound lane.
The California Highway Patrol said the motorist then slammed head-on into a car headed east at the time. The two crashed near the intersection with Highway 16.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then pronounced the driver who caused the crash dead at the scene.
The four occupants of the other vehicle who ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Helicopters took them to Sacramento and Vacaville hospitals for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded victims have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officials forced the eastbound lanes of Highway 20 near Williams to shut down for hours following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal wreck is still under investigation.
