Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Commerce Hit-and-Run Crash on 5 Freeway
COMMERCE, CA (September 3, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash on the 5 Freeway in Commerce.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 3:26 p.m.
According to CHP, a vehicle struck the motorcycle rider for an unknown reason in the city of Commerce. The two crashed on the northbound 5 Freeway, just south of Atlantic Boulevard.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the motorcyclist left suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the victim to a hospital for treatment of a broken foot. Officials did not release the name of the wounded patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the other driver did not stop to render aid to the rider and fled the area. Officers forced the northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway near Atlantic to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Commerce hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
