Pedestrian Killed Monday in Compton Hit-and-Run
COMPTON (July 25, 2017)- According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a deadly hit-and-run was reported Monday evening at or near the crossroads of Cypress Street and Crane Avenue.
Authorities were notified of the incident at around 11:00 p.m. when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
According to several bystanders, the victim only being ID’ed as a male may have been in a brief altercation with the driver of an unknown vehicle who may have been a friend or relative before the driver suddenly ran the victim over.
The unidentified man was discovered unconscious upon the arrival of paramedics and confirmed deceased at the scene due to severe trauma.
Authorities were informed that the driver/suspect fled the scene declaring this incident a hit-and-run.
No new details have or information has been released regarding the identity of the victim or whether or not the suspect has been located.
