1 Injured in Compton Hit-and-Run Crash on East Stockwell Street
COMPTON, CA (October 9, 2021) – At least one was injured after a hit-and-run crash on East Stockwell Street in Compton.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Saturday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at around 4:10 p.m.
CHP said a driver slammed into several parked vehicles for an unknown reason in Compton. The accident took place at 2040 East Stockwell Street.
Driver Hits Parked Vehicles, Flees Scene
The report described two of the parked cars as a black Honda SUV and a blue Hyundai sedan. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene between Paulsen and Aranbe avenues.
They found one person left wounded as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident.
Officials did not disclose the name of the victim and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that motorist who caused the collision did not stop to help and fled the area.
Officers forced a stretch of Stockwell Street to shut down following the wreck. The Compton hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
