Concord Police Officer Injured in Hit-and-Run on Mountain Boulevard
CONCORD (May 8, 2018) – An on-duty police officer was injured after an alleged DUI hit-and-run crash on Mountain Boulevard late Saturday night, according to SF Gate and CBS San Francisco.
The accident took place on May 5 at about 11:45 p.m. near Virginia Lane.
As per the reports, a Concord police officer was sitting in his car parked on Monument Boulevard when another vehicle struck the rear of his patrol unit. The officer was investigating a fatal crash which occurred in the area more than an hour before.

The officer suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash. The victim, whose name was not released, was transported to the hospital and later released.
Meanwhile, the male driver who hit the officer did not stop and continued onto Oak Grove Road. The suspect, 22-year-old Carlos Palacios, was located after he slammed into a tree in the center of the roadway.
The Concord man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and on suspicion of hit-and-run.
