Construction Worker Fatal Crash Moreno Valley 60 Freeway Moreno Beach

Construction Worker Killed in Moreno Valley Crash on 60 Freeway

MORENO VALLEY, CA (April 13, 2022) – A crash killed a construction worker on the 60 Freeway in Moreno Valley.

According to an article published by My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Tuesday morning. Officers reported the collision on April 12 at about 11:15 a.m.

The incident happened when a Spectrum Construction Co. worker was on the shoulder of the westbound 60 Freeway in Moreno Valley.

Man Hit by Car

At the same time, a 2016 Hyundai Sonata was traveling at about 45 mph in the slow lane. For an unknown reason, the sedan veered onto the shoulder and then into the dirt.

In the process, the car struck the construction worker who had his back turned to traffic. The California Highway Patrol said the driver hit the victim east of Moreno Beach Drive.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of the 60 Freeway to shut down for a time after the incident that killed the worker. The cause of the fatal crash is still under investigation.
