The California Highway Patrol said the Toyota then struck a construction worker in Ontario. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the victim lying on the ground as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel rushed the 61-year-old man to a hospital where he died. His name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
