Woman Critically Injured in Chula Vista Pedestrian Accident
CHULA VISTA, Calif. — Copitsy Torres, 39, of San Diego, died Saturday one day after she was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle at Date Street and Main Street.
The crash was reported at 6:30 p.m. to the Chula Vista Police Department.
Police officers and firefighters found the woman pedestrian unconscious with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics rushed her to UC San Diego where she was listed in critical condition. She later died on Saturday at 8:19 p.m.
The driver in the crash stopped and was cooperating with an investigation. There was no indication that drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.
