Semi-Truck, Car Collide in Fatal Collision on State Route 99
CORCORAN, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2023) — A semi-truck and car were involved in a fatal crash on Highway 99 near Pickerell Avenue in Corcoran.
It happened around 6:15 a.m. on Sept. 25th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Paula Chavez, 18, was driving a grey 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis that collided with a semi-truck due to unknown circumstances. The crash left debris across all lanes of State Route 99, the report said.
Paramedics responded and pronounced one person dead on scene, but there are no further details.
Meanwhile, at least one tow truck responded to remove the car from the scene and investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
