Fatal Hit-and-Run Collision on Foothill Boulevard
Fontana, CA (August 7, 2022) – Police arrested Coreyraye Smith in relation with a deadly pedestrian accident that occurred on Foothill Boulevard on August 3.
The Fontana Herald News published an article online reporting a vehicle struck an individual in the area west of Sultana Avenue. Preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was walking in an easterly direction on Foothill. For reasons still unclear, an oncoming motorist struck the victim.
Per local news source, the driver sped away and left the pedestrian at the scene.
Emergency crews arrived at the crash site shortly after 5:35 a.m. Responding paramedics mentioned they found the pedestrian suffered in serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts performed by medical personnel, the victim sadly succumbed to their injuries and passed away. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Suspect Arrested After Deadly Pedestrian in Fontana
Police later identified the hit-and-run suspect as Coreyraye Smith. After officers located the man, they arrested him on charge of felony hit-and-run.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
