Cornelio Soco Fatal Daly City Crash 280 Freeway, Eastmoor Avenue
Man Killed in Daly City Collision is Identified
DALY CITY, Calif. (Jan. 12, 2024) — Cornelio Cifuentes Soco, 33, of San Francisco, is one of two drivers who died in a head-on crash early Monday on the Interstate 280 Freeway near the Eastmoor Avenue off ramp in Daly City.
The collision between a silver Toyota Previa minivan and a black Toyota Corolla sedan occurred in the southbound fast lane at around 2:43 a.m. on Jan. 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch. One of the vehicles overturned and glass was scattered in traffic lanes.
Anthony Pacheco, 53, of Petaluma, was driving the Corolla and collided with the minivan driven by Cornelio Cifuentes Soco, according to news reports and SF Gate.
The Petaluma man died at the scene, but paramedics transported the minivan driver to a hospital where he later died as well.
Police issued a SigAlert and requested a response from the San Mateo County Coroner.
Investigators continue to work on finding out the circumstances leading up to the crash on the 280 Freeway in Daly City.
