2 Injured in Possible DUI Collision at Rawson Road and Corona Avenue Saturday
Corning, CA (October 2, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a car accident that occurred in the area of Rawson Road and Corona Avenue Saturday afternoon.
Initial records indicated a solo-vehicle crashed at the Corning intersection at about 2:15 p.m.
First responders found the vehicle disabled under the bridge. Officials said one person ended up pinned underneath the wreckage. The other party involved in the wreck was reportedly pulling out the trapped party until rescue teams arrived.

According to the CHP dispatch, the two parties both suffered injuries as a result of the incident. Paramedics rendered aid to the victims, then eventually transported them to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Authorities later mentioned one person involved in the collision showed signs of intoxication. Additional details on the possible DUI suspect have not been revealed thus far.
At this time, investigators continue to work to determine exactly how and why the car accident in Corning happened.
