At Least 1 Badly Hurt in Collision on West Side Highway Friday
Corning, CA (August 13, 2021) – A car accident that occurred on Interstate 5 resulted in injuries Friday evening, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
Our sources indicated a vehicle, believed to be a BMW sedan, veered off the roadway for an unknown reason. The vehicle continued driving onto shoulder of West Side Highway and eventually slammed into a tree.
Officials said the crash took place near Finnel Avenue and a resting stop in Corning.
Shortly after 9:33 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the crash site. First responders found the BMW with major frontend damage.

Responding medical personnel rendered aid to all parties involved in the collision. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person sustained major injuries as a result of the wreck.
Investigators continue to work at this time to determine exactly how and why the car accident in Corning happened.
