Corning crash South Kirkwood
1 Killed in Corning Crash Near South Avenue and Kirkwood Road
CORNING, CA (March 7, 2022) – A car crash killed at least one person near South Avenue and Kirkwood Road in Corning.
The California Highway Patrol said the tragic accident took place on Monday evening. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck shortly before 6:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle slammed into the side of another car in Corning. For an unknown reason, the two crashed near the intersection of South Avenue and Kirkwood Road.
2 Cars Collide
CHP described the two cars as a sedan and a pickup truck. Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the scene near the Interstate 5.
Medical personnel soon confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision. The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if any other party ended up hurt in the incident. Officers forced the area of South Avenue and Kirkwood Road to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Corning crash is still under investigation.
