A forensic examination of both vehicles, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators determine which party ultimately caused the accident. Other potential factors will be looked into as well including whether or not either driver was under the influence at the time of the accident? Was either driver driving recklessly or over the speed limit prior to impact? What were the road conditions and how was the lighting in the vicinity of where the accident occurred? Each of these factors will be assessed allowing police officials to draw up a final conclusion.
