The accident was reported at 4:20 p.m. on Stagecoach Road.
As per the Record Searchlight, Richard Kirby was struck by a woman identified as Savannah Huntzinger, 20.
Authorities say Huntzinger had been headed westbound in a van before allowing her vehicle to veer off the road striking Kirby.
Police officials confirmed that the 58-year-old Kirby was rushed to the hospital before being pronounced dead shortly after being admitted.
CHP officials do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor in the man’s death.
