5 Injured in Crash on Riverside (91) Freeway in Corona
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (May 19, 2022) — Five people suffered injuries in a Corona car accident Thursday morning on the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway, just west of Smith Avenue.
Also, the 3-vehicle collision occurred about 11:36 a.m. on May 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a black vehicle was allegedly traveling at high speed and crashed into a white vehicle. The impact forced the white vehicle into the FasTrak lane of the freeway, police said. A third vehicle was also involved. Both the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the freeway became blocked by the vehicles.
Paramedics responded to the scene and located five people with moderate injuries. They transported the injured by ambulances to a local hospital.
Meanwhile, at least two of the vehicles required tow trucks to remove them from the freeway.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the crash. Finally, witnesses to the Corona accident on the 91 Freeway may contact the CHP.
