1 Killed in Fiery Collision Near Green River Road Thursday
Corona, CA (March 31, 2022) – A fatal traffic accident occurred on Interstate 91, also known as Riverside Freeway, early Thursday.
My News LA published an article online reporting a collision between a semi truck with a white trailer and a 2010 Volvo. Preliminary investigation revealed the Volvo was heading westbound on I-91, just east of Coal Canyon Trail. For reasons still unclear, the Volvo crashed into a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder of the freeway. Following the impact, the Volvo driver veered back into traffic. In the process, an oncoming big rig struck the car.
Emergency crews arrived at the site shortly after 12:56 a.m. and found the semi disabled in the eastbound side of the freeway. Officials said the truck and the Volvo both ended up engulfed in flames.
Fatal Crash on Riverside (91) Freeway in Corona
Per local news source, witnesses found a person lying in the number two lane of I-91. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim, believed to be the driver of the Volvo, but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and passed away. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Detectives stayed at the site the whole morning to determine several unclear factors surrounding the unfortunate event on Riverside (91) Freeway in Corona.
