1 Killed in Corona Car Crash on Westbound 91 Freeway Tuesday
CORONA, CA (April 13, 2the 021) – At least one was killed after a car crash along the 91 Freeway near Serfas Club Drive in Corona.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident occurred late Tuesday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 10:51 p.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle became stalled in the middle lane of the westbound 91 Freeway in Corona. For an unknown reason, another driver collided with the car.
2-Vehicle Collision Near Serfas Club Drive
CHP described the two vehicles that crashed as a Chevrolet sedan and a Toyota sedan. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene, west of Serfas Club Drive.
They extricated a passenger who ended up trapped in the Chevrolet as a result of the collision. Medical personnel later confirmed that one victim died.
The name of the deceased individual remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if any other party sustained injuries upon impact.
Officials forced three lanes of the westbound 91 Freeway to close for a time following the crash. The cause of the fatal Corona collision is still under investigation.
