CORONA, California (July 15, 2015) — A pickup truck pulling a trailer struck a motorcyclist and knocked him down Wednesday morning on the westbound State Route 91 Freeway, just west of Maple Street, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The rider was able to stand up following the crash in the No. 1 lane, but the silver Dodge Ram pickup truck that struck him continued driving. A witness chased the driver down and honked to get his attention. The pickup truck pulled over and told authorities that motorcyclist was splitting lanes and clipped his trailer. He also told police he was trying to pull over, but was unable to due to construction.
Paramedics responded to the scene to help the injured motorcycle rider. Police are investigating the crash and will determine liability.
