CORONA: 2 Fatalities in Multi-Vehicle Collision on 15 Freeway

CORONA, California (Saturday, August 15, 2015) – A 2-Car collision occurred on northbound Interstate 15 Freeway, south of Magnolia Avenue, resulting in an overturned vehicle and two fatalities. The identities of the deceased – Jose De Jesus Ibarra, 32, and Rosio Ibarra, 26 – were released by the Sheriff- Coroner’s Office of Riverside, California. They were residents of Lake Elsinore.

A tan SUV went over an embankment, overturning and causing a black Honda Civic to swerve, losing control. The occupants of the SUV were trapped inside. An infant was found on the right hand shoulder of the roadway. Several parties emerged from their vehicles and they were observed screaming at each other.

The accident was reported at about 7:48 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, at 8:08 p.m. The initial cause of the accident remains unknown.
